Lift and Slide Doors
Lift and slide doors use a handle that physically raises the sash off its seal before it moves. Lifted, a very heavy panel glides with one hand. Lowered, the full weight of the sash presses onto the perimeter seal, so the door closes tighter than a conventional slider.
Custom-fabricated in aluminum to your openings, with a geared lift mechanism and concealed running gear. The mechanism is what allows heavy, tall panels to operate easily.
How lift and slide doors work
The handle lifts the sash clear of its seal before it moves.
The lifting action is the whole point. A conventional slider drags along its seal, which limits how much sealing pressure the design can use and how heavy a panel it can carry. Lifting clear removes both limits — so a lift and slide seals harder when closed and still moves easily when open.

Finishes
Two coating systems, the full RAL range in both, and a different colour inside and out if you want one.
Standard
Powder coating
Baked-on polyester, electrostatically applied and oven-cured. The standard finish on most projects and the right choice inland and in the mountains.
Full RAL range
Matte, satin and textured
Hard, scratch-resistant surface
Good colour retention

PVDF
A fluoropolymer coating specified where exposure is severe — coastal salt air, intense UV, or an elevation that takes weather all day. Markedly better resistance to fading and chalking than polyester.
Full RAL range
Superior UV and fade resistance
Resists chalking and salt-air corrosion
Specified for coastal and high-exposure work
Any unit can be finished in one colour on the interior face and another on the exterior. A warm interior tone against a dark exterior is the most common request — it lets the window match the room without fighting the elevation. Dual-colour changes nothing about thermal or structural performance.
Where lift and slide works best
Heavy, tall panels
The lift mechanism carries weight a conventional slider cannot operate comfortably.
Air-tightness-critical builds
Full sash weight bearing on the seal gives a tighter close than a slider that drags.
Floor-to-ceiling glass
Tall panels stay easy to operate regardless of glazing weight.
Compare configurations
Not sure this is the right one? Here is how it sits against the rest of the range.
Two opening actions, one handle.
Side-hinged, single action, widest clear opening.
Top-hinged outward. Ventilates through rain.
Sashes slide horizontally. No swing into the room.
Largest panels. No swing clearance needed.
Folds fully back to open the whole wall.
Lifts clear of the seal — heavy panels, tight seal. You are here.
Common questions
A conventional slider drags its panel along the seal as it opens, which limits both sealing pressure and how heavy a panel it can carry. A lift and slide door uses a handle that physically raises the sash a few millimetres clear of its seal before it moves, so a heavy panel glides with almost no effort — and when lowered, the full weight of the sash presses onto the perimeter seal for a tighter close than a slider that drags.
No — that is the point of the mechanism. Turning the handle lifts even a very heavy panel clear of its seal and onto its rollers, so it glides with one hand despite the weight. The geared lift mechanism is what makes tall, heavy panels practical to operate day to day.
