Tilt and Turn Windows

Tilt and turn windows open two ways from a single handle. Turn the handle once and the sash tilts inward from the top for secure ventilation. Turn it again and the sash swings fully inward like a door, for cleaning, egress and maximum airflow.

Custom-fabricated in aluminum to your openings, with multi-point locking hardware that seals the sash against the frame at several points rather than one.

How tilt and turn windows work

One handle, three positions. The hardware does the work.

Because the sash compresses against the frame rather than pulling away from it, air-tightness is better than a single-point outward-opening window. Hinges are concealed, so nothing is visible from either side when the window is closed.

Finishes

Two coating systems, the full RAL range in both, and a different colour inside and out if you want one.

Standard

Powder coating

Baked-on polyester, electrostatically applied and oven-cured. The standard finish on most projects and the right choice inland and in the mountains.

Full RAL range

Matte, satin and textured

Hard, scratch-resistant surface

Good colour retention

Upgrade

PVDF

A fluoropolymer coating specified where exposure is severe — coastal salt air, intense UV, or an elevation that takes weather all day. Markedly better resistance to fading and chalking than polyester.

Full RAL range

Superior UV and fade resistance

Resists chalking and salt-air corrosion

Specified for coastal and high-exposure work

Different colour inside and out

Different colour inside and out

Any unit can be finished in one colour on the interior face and another on the exterior. A warm interior tone against a dark exterior is the most common request — it lets the window match the room without fighting the elevation. Dual-colour changes nothing about thermal or structural performance.

Where tilt and turn works best

Bedrooms and upper floors

Tilt position ventilates overnight without leaving an opening a person could pass through.

Passive and high-performance builds

Perimeter compression sealing is what makes the air-tightness numbers achievable.

Anywhere with an exterior obstruction

Inward opening never conflicts with screens, shutters, awnings or a tight setback.

Common questions

Are tilt and turn windows worth the extra cost?

Are tilt and turn windows worth the extra cost?

They cost more than a single-action window because the hardware does two jobs and seals at multiple points. What you get is better air-tightness, egress and tilt ventilation from one unit, and glass you can clean from inside. On an upper floor or a high-performance build, that combination is difficult to match another way.

Do tilt and turn windows take up room inside?

Do tilt and turn windows take up room inside?

In the turn position the sash swings inward, so it needs clear space at the opening. In the tilt position it leans in only a few inches at the top. Most projects use tilt day to day and turn occasionally for cleaning or egress.

Can you use a screen with a tilt and turn window?

Can you use a screen with a tilt and turn window?

Yes. Because the sash opens inward, the screen mounts on the outside and never conflicts with the opening — which is one of the reasons inward-opening hardware is standard on European systems.

What sizes are available?

What sizes are available?

Every unit is fabricated to your openings rather than pulled from stock sizes. Sightlines start at 20 mm and frame depths of 70, 86 and 104 mm are available depending on the performance target and the wall build-up.
